Within a couple of miles of Poppyland are several pubs, a petrol station, a mini-market and post office, a farm shop with a butcher, delicatessen, green grocer, drinks/wine cellar, pet shop, hair dresser, beauty salon, coffee shop & restaurant.

For those wishing to eat out local pubs in the area serve excellent food and are very popular with our visitors. The Vernon Arms in the neighbouring village of South Repps, the Foundary in North Repps, The Suffield Arms and The Gunton Arms in Thorpe Market all welcome dogs.

Roughton, approx 1.5 miles from Poppyland, has a fish and chip shop and the New Inn pub.

Nearest supermarkets - Cromer (4 miles) has a Morrisons, Iceland, Coop and Lidl. North Walsham (4 miles) has a Waitrose, Sainsburys and Lidl.

Tesco, Sainsburys, Waitrose and Asda will deliver to Poppyland.

Poppyland is an ideal base from which to explore the North Norfolk coastline, the Norfolk Broads and the surrounding areas.

Whatever your interest, be it historic buildings, wildlife parks, coastal, military museums or working steam railways - there will always be something for you to enjoy in Norfolk.

  • The Norfolk Broads is now the UK’s largest protected wetland and an important area for wildlife.

  • The constantly changing Norfolk coastline consists of some 90 miles of the most beautiful scenery and beaches in the British Isles.

  • There has been a pier or jetty in Cromer since 1391. The current Victorian Pier was opened in 1901 and is home to the town’s most visited attraction, the 510 seater Pavilion Theatre.

  • Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Hall and Sheringham Park are among several National Trust properties in the local area.

  • The Poppy Line steam railway line from Sheringham to Holt runs steam trains most days from April to October.

  • The Sandringham Estate, country retreat of Her Majesty the Queen, and Holkham Hall, a grand Palladian mansion, are both within a 1 hour drive from Poppyland.

  • Boat trips are available from Blakeney Quay and Morston Quay to see the seal colonies.

  • Fishermen have the choice locally of beach, coarse or sea fishing.

  • Poppyland is also ideally situated for country walks, rambling and cycling.
